A new IES Recommended Practice, RP-11, Residential Lighting was rolled out during 2018. RP-11 is ANSI approved and so is now the official “standard” for residential lighting. It is also the result of a joint effort, the first involving the IES and the American Lighting Association or ALA (the trade association for the residential lighting industry in the U.S. and Canada). You’re invited to our April IES Meeting to learn about what’s inside RP-11, to see what’s new in residential lighting design and to hear how the ALA is working to incorporate residential products and design ideas into “residential-like” spaces in commercial lighting projects.
